Liquid Body Soaps for the Whole Family
Unless you’re more of a bar soap person, you’ll probably use a liquid body wash everyday when you shower. Considering how frequently body washes are used, it’s important to not only find a reliable wash that you love but also a wash that isn’t going to cause you any harm in the long run.
At Ever Natural we have sourced a great range of liquid body washes that are loved by many, including those by Weleda, Dr. Bronner’s, Melrose, and our newest soaps by Uniquely Organic. We’ve done our research and have discovered some great benefits of each individual wash, so you can decide which soap is best for you and your family. Read our list below!

Melrose Organic Castile Soaps are great value for money. Certified organic by Australian Certified Organic, they are made from a blend of oils and are free from synthetic detergents and parabens. Suitable for all skin types, castile soaps are pure, gentle, but still lather easily without the use of irritating sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). Not to mention, Melrose soaps are entirely biodegradable and with half a litre worth in each bottle, this soap will last for weeks, even if used by the whole family.
Cost per 100ml: $2.58
As our latest addition to the Ever Natural range, we are thoroughly impressed by Uniquely Organic products. Each hand and body wash includes a formula of organic aloe vera and coco-glucoside – one of the most gentle, environmentally friendly, plant derived cleansing agents that purifies skin without causing dryness. Along with avocado oil and rosehip extract, these soaps are highly nourishing and are available in some uplifting and unique scents. The idea of using a coconut pineapple scent is very exciting while espresso could do a great job at awakening the skin and mind in the morning!
Cost per 100ml: $5.06
Made with a base formula of organic oils, Dr. Bronner’s famous organic soap is certified organic by USDA. Dr. Bronner’s uses ingredients such as organic sucrose, coconut oil, and hemp oil to create an effective soap that ensures no synthetic detergents or preservatives such as parabens or SLS are used. Both scents are highly conditioning and purifying and use powerful properties of organic shikakai from the South Asian Acacia Concinna tree. Shikakai helps to create a rich lather and moisturising feel to your skin. A little goes a long way, and with each bottle containing 355ml, this soap will do the treat for the whole household.
Cost per 100ml: $8.98
You can never go wrong with a citrus body wash. With lemon peel oil and aroma from natural essential oils, this body wash is vitalising and energising. This body wash also uses the power coco-glucoside, as well as sesame seed oil for light and gentle suds. Free from synthetic detergents and preservatives, this aromatic wash is truly luxurious.
While conventional, irritating soaps may cause a reaction on your skin immediately, other soaps have ingredients that accumulate in your body. This is called bioaccumulation, which means that substances and chemicals can build up over time and create terrible effects on your body.
We use soap and body washes every day of our lives, so it is really important – not just for ourselves but for our families as well – to have body washes in the home that don’t contain bio-accumulative toxic ingredients.
Parabens are a concern for this in body washes and soaps. Although parabens can often immediately irritate the skin, there is reason to be worried about the consistent use of parabens in the long run. A recent study has examined the accumulation of methylparaben in marine life, however there is still uncertainty about the dangers of paraben accumulation in our own bodies. There are many other ingredients that can have a bio-accumulative effect on you body. Click here to read a great blog post on the topic.
Organic body washes not only avoid skin irritation and bioaccumulation but nourish your skin with organic oils, extracts, and ingredients that are safe for your family and the environment. For the same price as most supermarket body washes, choosing organic soaps over commercial soaps for the family bathroom is really a no-brainer!
